Michelle Repiso, 4th year photography major, Corcoran School of Art. Fall intern, 1999.
"The internship was a unique way of learning about photography. It took me out of the classroom and into the real world of photography. It was a chance for me to assist and experience what is entailed in getting the best shot. Whether your intention is to become a commercial or fine art photographer, I would recommend an internship with John. He takes both the artistic and commercial and combines them to produce a visually interesting outcome."
Most enjoyed - Least enjoyed:
"Being able to assist on photo shoots. Seeing and learning what really goes on." - "The obvious...carrying heavy equipment."

What I learned:

"How to effectively communicate with a client so that an idea and vision is successfully met. I also learned the business side of photography. John would take time out and explain how to prosperously run a business."

Michelle is pictured here, on the set ABC News, standing in for a polaroid before we photographed Sam Donaldson for a magazine article.
