Noemi de la Torre, Bradley University, Peoria IL, Summer 2004.

I had a lot of fun these two months working with John. And i would strongly encourage anybody thinking about becoming a photographer to do this internship. Especially the full-time internship. Being here everyday, I learned alot more than if i had worked part time.
Most enjoyed - Least enjoyed:
"The shoots of course! Sometimes I'd get to go on as many as three different shoots a day-all different things. In the morning I'd be at the capitol and a few hours later I'd be at XM watching a band play. I think the Reagan Funeral was my favorite, it was such a cool experience." - "The intern projects. There's a reason why they are designated "intern projects". Reconciling John's checking account - I guess it was educational but if i have to go hunting down down one more missing deposit..."

What I learned:

"Never say to the client, "Oh, I've never heard of XM. I just moved here so I'm not familiar with the local radio stations yet." Rule #1: Keep quiet! But seriously, I learned a ton. In these two months, I've learned more than I could have in a semester's worth of classes. This internship taught me the business side to photography, how to apply what I'd learned in school to the real world (ie. make a living). Plus, I learned a lot of cool Photoshop tricks."
