Suzannah Hoover, Sociology & Anthropology/Art Major at Earlham College, Summer 2006

"I really enjoyed my internship at John Harrington Photography. Throughout my internship I learned more about photography and the business of photography than I thought possible. This experience has only strengthened my desire to pursue a career in photography and I feel that anyone with a passion for photography should consider this internship."
Most enjoyed Least enjoyed:
"What I most enjoyed about this internship were the shoots. From Capitol Hill to XM to laying on the floor with Joey Pantoliano, I not only enjoyed myself, but learned an immense amount in the process. I also found it impressive to see a shoot that I had helped with in its final form in a publication." "My least favorite thing about being an intern was cleaning the garage."

What I learned:

"I learned to “Know what I don’t know.” Seriously though, I found that
throughout this internship I was constantly obtaining knowledge. When I say this I am referring to important information such as lighting,
post-production, and the business of photography, as well as the simple things like how to hold a drink in your left hand or to always have a business card ready. I think John teachs you important information for all aspects of the business world and I think this is why the internship is so crucial to people like me.
