Valerie Susen, Senior, Savanah College of Art and Design, Summer 2002.

Most enjoyed - Least enjoyed:
"Going on shoots with John, especially going with him to the Roots concert where I was able to do some shooting of my own." - "Being stuck in the office creating the insurance inventory list."

What I learned:

"I now have a better understanding of all the work involved in having a successful photography business. Thanks to John I was able to experience this first hand. That experience has taught me what I can expect in my own photography career."

(Above) Valerie stands in for a portrait project for a company's annual report. We were match-lighting another project photographer, who was shooting different company executives in London, so lighting which made them all look as if there were shot at the same time, by the samer person, was critical.

(Left) Valerie's credential when we worked on a shoot we were doing for MTV, of the Roots, featuring Jill Scott, at a concert venue in Washington DC. With Valerie having some extra time during the show, I gave her a digital camera so that she could shoot some of the shot for herself.
